John Stevenson, MP for Carlisle has welcomed over £84,000 of Government investment into sports facilities in Carlisle. Football clubs at Gillford Park and Rickerby Park have received funding for new goalposts and Bitts Park will see a tennis court refurbishment, gate installation and a move to online booking.
Commenting John said, “I welcome this announcement of more Government investment into Carlisle – this time into our much loved and well used sports facilities. Being active and playing sport has huge physical and mental health benefits and good quality facilities are key to getting more people out and using these.”
