John Stevenson MP for Carlisle has written to head teachers in the Carlisle Constituency to encourage them to apply for funding to take pupils to visit Historic Royal Palaces.
Historic Royal Palaces, is an independent charity that cares for the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace.
The Access Fund for Schools offers pupils the opportunity to have a high quality learning experience at an important historical site. Topics of the facilitated sessions range from Henry VIII’s vibrant court to the education of Queen Victoria to crime and punishment at The Tower of London. The funding would cover or contribute to entrance fees, education sessions and travel costs.
Commenting John said, “This is an excellent opportunity for pupils in Carlisle to visit some of our great palaces and see history come alive. I would encourage as many schools as possible to apply.”
